shamik chakrabarti (fully seated live comedy)
shamik chakrabarti live in the ballroom
After acclaimed performances across India, London and the Edinburgh Fringe, Shamik Chakrabarti brings his unique brand of stand-up comedy to Australia for the very first time.
Known for his razor-sharp writing, dry wit and brilliantly understated delivery, Shamik has become one of the most distinctive voices in Indian stand-up comedy. His comedy finds humour in everyday absurdities, social awkwardness, overthinking, and the strange realities of modern life, all delivered with a deceptively calm stage presence that has earned him a devoted following around the world.
With millions of views across social media and a reputation as a comedian's comedian, Shamik has built a loyal audience through smart observational comedy that rewards both casual comedy fans and those who appreciate clever writing. His ability to turn seemingly ordinary situations into unforgettable stories has made him a favourite among audiences looking for stand-up that is thoughtful, relatable and consistently funny.
Now, Shamik arrives in Australia with his most interactive show yet. Expect sharp observations, unexpected tangents, audience interaction, brand-new material and plenty of the awkward charm that has become his trademark.
"There was barely a moment when I wasn't chuckling." - Chortle (UK)

JHANA ALLAN
JHANA ALLAN live in the ballroom
Shapeshifting folk-rock artist, once based in Naarm, Melbourne, now based on Awabakal land, Newcastle, Jhana Allan returns to Melbourne in October for a tour celebrating the release of her two singles, ‘You Got The Eyes’ and ‘Angsty at Anstey’.
After the release of her predominantly indie-rock album ‘Fake Paradise’ in 2024, Allan’s new single ‘You Got The Eyes’ leans towards a laidback, groove-driven country feel, with mandolin as the driving force. The song has extra significance as it was the first on which Allan started working with her mentor Rachel Baiman. These two singles were produced by Baiman in Nashville with a group of stellar Nashville musicians.
At the time Allan was writing ‘You Got The Eyes’, it was 2019 in the middle of the drought on Anewan (New England Region) country. She states “I was living in a small rural town, driving long distances and writing on the drives.” You Got The Eyes started out as a heart-broken country ballad. Working with Rachel Baiman however, resulted in it becoming a song about Allan taking her power back, and ultimately recognising her own worth. “I feel powerful when I sing it. The single artwork is me cos-playing confidence, or maybe even a touch of arrogance. For someone who constantly second-guesses herself, putting on a persona of overconfidence is really therapeutic for me”.
Jhana will be playing as a duo with bassist Tim Merrikin and will be supported by special guest Dan Musil.

the owls
the owls live in the ballroom
The OWLS new single ‘Unfinished Business’ opens with the lines, “while you’re sleeping, I’ll
stay up believing there’s still something left to sing.”
If you’re reading this then chances are you’d
agree, given the way things are, there most certainly is. The song speaks to the question, what
drives creativity? Resolving in the conclusion that, “in a past life, I must’ve had unfinished
business.”
All meaning and motives aside, the song’s a rocker. It kicks and stumbles over the cornerstones of
great rock’n’roll - 3 chords, 2 electric guitars, a great rhythm section and a great song, all captured
pretty much live, unpretentious and loose in all the right ways.
